Land of second chances
November 24, 2007A dentist, or a psychologist? What shall I be?
I have a path in mind –counseling-clinical-forensic— How to get there? guts and wit! And of course, a whole pack of brain-power.Then, im good. Hmmm.. I guess, we all are. lol
But no..! My y-chromosome donor shattered my paved path with these words: "Achi, you can go with dentistry if you want. This is the land of second chances. You can change your major here".
Story behind: Three years ago, I would have taken dentistry if situation permitted. But it didn't, so i took the next best thing that suits time and interest, and my beloved Psychology fit perfectly. I did what i was told, finished the damn course in three years. I fell in love with it. and definitely want to make a career out of it.
So, right now, I'm in a crossroad of a freeway X_X. I want to keep my head start and be on with it. BUT come and think of it, i wouldnt be saying this if im definite with my made-path, would i?
The land of second chances? I don't need a second chance. What I need is a second try. *clogged*
The next best thing to do?
Ego says "Stay in track and be focused"
Alter-ego says "It always takes time to have it all"
turkey?
November 23, 2007HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Now, should i give thanks? I dont even have a single idea why I am joining this celebration. Soooo.. to give us all a clear thought.. here's a clip on the history of thanksgiving.
1621 Thanksgiving, The Pilgrims in Massachusetts
The early settlers of Plymouth Colony in Massachusetts were particularly grateful to Squanto, the Native American and former British slave who taught them how to both catch eel and grow corn and also served as their native interpreter. Without Squanto's assistance, the settlers might not have survived in the New World.
The Plymouth settlers (who came to be called "Pilgrims") set apart a holiday immediately after their first harvest in 1621. They held an autumn celebration of food, feasting, and praising God. The Governor of Plymouth invited Grand Sachem Massasoit and the Wampanoag people to join them in the feast. Evidence to support that claim came from diaries of Plymouth. The settlers fed and entertained the Native Americans for three days, at which point some of the Native Americans went into the forest, killed 5 deer, and gave them to the Governor as a gift.
In other words, settlers fed the natives, gave them parties and all that. And later on.. slaved them off their sorry ass*s Oh c'mon. What else is new? doink! haha! Now why turkey? I dont know.. but chicken is way better! haha
For the record, i stil dont know why i should care about this. haha but what the heck.. lets just give credit to the warm hugs and greetings. And the fact that at this time of the year, in the southernwest side of this country, people actually give a damn about something, other than money… and money. Ofcourse, i'm kidding. haha!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!
